Dr. Jose Jacob is an experienced invasive cardiologist with over 23 years of practice diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases. Throughout his career, he has specialized in procedures like diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and transesophageal echocardiograms. He holds an MSc in Cardiology from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, complementing his Weill Cornell Medical College cardiology fellowship. His career has been defined by a strong commitment to providing exceptional cardiovascular care to patients.

Born on January 3rd, 1960, in India, Dr. Jacob’s path to medicine began in the late 1970s when he joined St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore, India. He graduated with his MBBS degree in 1983 and soon decided to specialize in internal medicine. By 1991, he had completed his MD in General Internal Medicine, solidifying his expertise in the field.

Dr. Jacob’s medical journey took him to the UK in 1992, where he worked as a Senior House Officer and Medical Registrar in Letterkenny, Ireland. During his time there, he earned his MSc in Cardiology from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. His thesis, which focused on thrombolysis in acute myocardial infarction, made a notable contribution to the medical community.

1996, Jose Jacob relocated to the United States to further his medical training. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Following his residency, he pursued a cardiology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he trained in invasive cardiology until 2002.

Since then, Dr. Jacob has worked in various hospitals across the U.S. He began his cardiology career in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and continued to serve in prominent institutions such as Carolina Heart, Carolina East Cardiology, and Eastern Carolina Cardiovascular. In addition to his clinical work, he has held leadership roles, including Director and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center from 2016 to 2018 and Chief of Staff at Martin General Hospital from 2019 to 2020.

In 2021, Dr. Jacob moved to Florida, where he continues his practice at the Cardiac Specialty Institute in Leesburg, Florida, and the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida in Ocala. His affiliation with several hospitals in Florida allows him to serve a wide range of patients in the region.

Jose Jacob MD is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Adult Cardiovascular Disease and is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Medical Association and the American College of Cardiology. His work in cardiology has earned him several awards, and he continues to be a respected figure in the field.
